Carrying One Another’s Burdens: What Does Christian Support Really Look Like?

As Christians, we are called to help carry one another’s burdens. It sounds like a beautiful idea—and it is. But have you ever stopped to ask yourself what that actually looks like?

It is easy to say, “I’ll pray for you.” It is easy to share an inspirational Bible verse or tell someone that God has a plan. Those things are important. Prayer is powerful, encouragement matters, and Scripture can change lives. But sometimes carrying someone’s burden means doing something practical. Sometimes it means simply asking, “What can I do to help?”

Recently, I began asking myself that question.

I reached out to Christian music artists with a simple offer: Let me help you share the message God has given you.

I wasn’t asking for money. I wasn’t asking for anything in return. I wasn’t copying their music, downloading their music, or trying to redirect listeners to the Hidden Treasure Books YouTube channel. My offer was simply to share links to their YouTube channels through our social media and website.

Why?

Because I believe Christians should help Christians.

We Are Not in Competition

The Christian world can sometimes look surprisingly competitive. Authors compete for readers. Musicians compete for listeners. Churches compete for attendance. Ministries compete for donations and attention.

But should it be that way?

The Apostle Paul gives us a very different picture of the body of Christ. In 1 Corinthians 12, Paul describes believers as different parts of one body. A hand isn’t competing with a foot. An ear isn’t competing with an eye. Each has a different purpose, but all are part of the same body.

That means your success doesn’t have to be my failure.

If a Christian musician reaches someone through a worship song, praise God!

If another author helps someone understand Scripture, praise God!

If a church helps a hurting family, praise God!

If a prayer ministry brings comfort to someone who feels forgotten, praise God!

We should be celebrating what God is doing through other believers rather than worrying about who gets the credit.

Sometimes Carrying a Burden Is Simple

Galatians 6:2 tells us to “carry each other’s burdens,” and that command is more practical than we sometimes realize.

Maybe carrying someone’s burden means bringing them a meal.

Maybe it means sitting beside someone who is grieving.

Maybe it means praying with someone.

Maybe it means encouraging a person who is ready to give up.

And sometimes, it might mean sharing their work.

A Christian musician may have spent countless hours writing, recording, producing, and publishing worship music. They may have a message they believe God has placed on their heart, but they may not have the resources or connections to reach a large audience.

What if another Christian simply said, “Let me help you get your message in front of more people”?

That doesn’t cost anything.

It doesn’t diminish our own ministry.

It doesn’t take anything away from us.

It simply creates an opportunity to help someone else.

A Lesson in Trust

That brings me to an organization I want to recognize: Hebrew Worship Zone.

To date, Hebrew Worship Zone is the first Christian music ministry to give Hidden Treasure Books permission to share its work on our website.

Hebrew Worship Zone is a Christian worship ministry creating Hebrew-English worship, soaking worship, Scripture-inspired music, and prayers designed to help people slow down, encounter the presence of God, and refresh their souls.

Their desire is simple: to glorify Yahweh and point hearts to Yeshua through worship.

I applaud the people behind Hebrew Worship Zone for trusting another Christian ministry enough to allow us to help promote their work.

And once again, we are doing it for free.

There is something refreshing about that.

Their ministry has something that can bless people. We have a platform where we can introduce people to that ministry. So why not work together?

It doesn’t have to be complicated.

It doesn’t have to involve contracts, invoices, or marketing fees.

Sometimes Christian ministry can simply be two believers saying, “God has given me something that might bless people. Can you help me share it?”

And the answer can be, “Absolutely.”

Creating a Place for Christians

This is really at the heart of what we are trying to build at Hidden Treasure Books.

We don’t want Hidden Treasure Books to be just another website where people come to buy books.

We want it to become a place where Christians can find encouragement, inspiration, prayer, worship, and resources that point them toward God.

Books are part of that mission.

Daily devotionals are part of that mission.

Our prayer corner is part of that mission.

Praise and worship music is part of that mission.

Our blog is part of that mission.

And supporting other Christian authors, musicians, ministries, and creators can be part of that mission as well.

We want to create a place where Christians can encounter God in different ways.

Not everyone worships in exactly the same way. Some people connect with God through Scripture. Others find themselves drawn into worship through music. Some need prayer. Others need encouragement. Some need a devotional thought to get them through the day.

There is room for all of them.

What If We All Helped Someone Else?

Imagine what could happen if Christians made a commitment to help another believer every week.

What if every Christian author shared another Christian author’s book?

What if every Christian musician promoted another musician?

What if churches encouraged neighboring churches?

What if ministries stopped worrying about who received the credit and started focusing on whether people were being reached?

What if we stopped asking, “What’s in it for me?” and started asking, “How can I help?”

I believe the impact could be tremendous.

We don’t always need money to make a difference.

Sometimes we have something even more valuable: our time, our encouragement, our platform, our connections, or simply our willingness to help.

A Challenge for All of Us

So here is my challenge—not just to you, but to myself.

Look around.

Find another Christian who is doing something to serve God.

Maybe it’s an author.

Maybe it’s a musician.

Maybe it’s someone running a small ministry.

Maybe it’s a person quietly praying for others.

Maybe it’s someone who is simply trying to share their faith on social media.

Then ask them one question:

“How can I help?”

You might be surprised by the answer.

And you might discover that carrying someone’s burden doesn’t always require you to carry something heavy.

Sometimes it only requires you to extend a hand.

At Hidden Treasure Books, that’s what we want to do.

We want to help carry the burdens of other believers. We want to provide a place where Christian books, worship, prayer, devotionals, and encouragement can come together. Most importantly, we want everything we do to point people toward the Living God we serve.

We don’t want to build a platform simply for ourselves.

We want to build a place where the body of Christ can build one another up.

Because when one believer helps another, both are blessed.

And when Christians stop competing and start cooperating, we may discover something wonderful:

There is more than enough room in God’s kingdom for all of us to serve.
